Copper is not magnetic, so almost none of it works on induction. Here is the exception, and the honest alternatives.
Why most copper fails on induction
An induction hob induces a current in the base of the pan. That requires a ferrous, magnetic metal. Copper is neither, so a copper pan sits on an induction hob and nothing happens at all. This is physics, not a quality problem, and no amount of thickness changes it.
The one copper that works: M’6 S
M’6 S is six plies drawn as a single body: copper on the outside, aluminium layers conducting, and a magnetic stainless layer the coil can read. It is genuine copper cookware that works on induction, and it is priced accordingly.
If you want copper in an induction kitchen, this is the only route that does not involve a compromise.
The interface disc, and why we do not recommend it
An induction interface disc is a magnetic plate you put between the hob and the pan. It works, in the sense that the pan gets hot. It also destroys the reason you bought copper: the heat now arrives through a slow steel disc, so the responsiveness disappears. It is a solution for a pan you already own, not a reason to buy one.
What to buy instead
Multi-ply stainless is the honest answer for most induction kitchens.
